A SECOND CONVICTION FOR DRIVING WITHOUT INSURANCE WILL TRIGGER A LICENSE SUSPENSION

 

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE INVALID

A conviction for driving while license invalid will trigger another suspension, for a period of 3 months to 2 years.

 

DRIVERS LICENSE RESTRICTION VIOLATIONS

Two convictions for a restriction violation will trigger a license suspension.

 

LICENSE SUSPENSION HEARINGS

If you receive a notice of Drivers License Suspension, you only have a certain amount of time to request a hearing or else you waive your right to a hearing and your license will be suspended.

Violations involving minors and alcohol or tobacco may result in a drivers license suspension.

Disorderly Conduct or Assault may affect your ability to get a concealed handgun license, and/or possess guns and ammunition.

Theft is considered a crime of moral turpitude. No matter how small the amount, one conviction can have a devastating affect on a persons ability to get employment, secure an apartment lease, get into college or any number of other opportunities.

 

WARRANTS LIFTED

If you have missed court, you may have an additional charge of Failure to Appear and warrants for your arrest. Additionally, the court may have entered you into the DPS Failure to Appear Database so that you cannot renew your drivers license. If you pay everything pending at the court, you are liable to incur lots of unintended consequences.  Each fine that you pay, results in a conviction on your driving record, and may trigger further license suspensions.  If you missed your court date, contact us before you pay your fines and warrant fees.
